Post the job on 2-3 favorite sites. These might not focus on specific job types or industry but are well know.
Hundreds of email resumes come in to your inbox. You spend 2 minutes reading them and in total hours away from other important duties.
To verify information, you call them late in the night or weekend. While you have them you try to interview them as well.
At the end of the process, you have some candidates in your pool. Although you might not be 100% about them, you dare not start over.
